Model Cars
by Philip Powell on May 1, 2006
Parked on a winter's day in an upscale neighborhood is this beautiful 1932 Bugatti Type 50T. A perfect restoration job but who would dare drive such a gem in these weather conditions? Nobody, as it happens, for this is a 1:8 scale model, hand-built to order from a kit by The Modeller's Workshop of Montreal. The Pocher kits provide remarkable realism and although they're not inexpensive, starting at around $2000, they're so stunning you could park one in your living room. You have the option of building one yourself, which has to be pretty satisfying, but if you lack the time or talent, the work can be done for you. Aside from these large-scale cars Rick Shousha's Modellers Workshop also offers pre-built 1:24 models, some in diorama format enclosed in acrylic cases. Check the Website for a preview.
