A Little Envy for Those British Auto Writers
Filed in archive Ferrari by Philip Powell on October 06, 2006
Hopefully you'll forgive me a moment of weakness, for I must confess to envying those British auto magazine editors who seem to spend their days zipping all over Europe to attend events featuring glamorous classics and glamorous people. (Though I sometimes wonder how they find time to edit their publications.) One I especially admire is Steve Wakefield of Classic Driver who, fortunately for the rest of us, provides an excellent weekly newsletter complete with very high quality photoraphs. You're looking at an example, taken at last weekend's Geneva Classic ( more on this at the link). The Ferrari Classiche display was apparently the best of the lot complete with, as Steve writes, "white leather and chrome Poltrona Frau seating and several immaculate cars." One of those was the magnificent Grand Prix car seen here. Chances are this priceless
gem won't be among the cars and memorabilia being auctioned by RM Auctions in 2007, the first to be held at Ferrari's Maranello headquarters.Permalink: A Little Envy for Those British Auto Writers
