A Wild Ride Through Paris in a Mystery Car. Was it a Ferrari?

Lelouch Paris Film

Claude Lelouch is a French film director, best-known for the Cannes award-winning 1966 film A Man and a Woman, one of the great (in my opinion) all-time car movies. Ten years later Lelouch produced a 9-minute short that is nothing short of spectacular. He mounted a gyro-stabilized camera to the bumper of a fast car and had it driven, non-stop at high speed, through the streets of Paris at dawn. Legend has it that the car was a Ferrari 275 GTB, and that a Formula One driver was at the wheel. This fabulous short disappeared almost as quickly as it appeared and all of us who saw it wish that someone would re-issue the film on DVD. Someone did, however, get a copy and posted it on the Web where it can be viewed, albeit in a very small window. Ferrari inside has it. Be sure to watch the video first but then come back and read the comments below. Some of our sharp-eyed viewers have correctly indentified the car, the driver, and those fabulous sounds. Get ready for a shock.
