Our Story
by Philip Powell on March 28, 2006
Created for that vast number of enthusiasts who simply enjoy beautiful old autos and express their interest in a variety of ways, Classical Drive is an ever-changing cornucopia of "what's new" in the old car hobby. It includes auctions, automobilia, shows and concours, vintage racing, models, art and photography, museums, history... all the fun things that make the hobby so entertaining. Classical Drive is produced by Philip Powell, a veteran automobile journalist, test driver and commentator of whom a fellow journalist once wrote "he's been involved in more aspects of the auto industry than anyone I've ever met." Based in Sidney, BC, on Vancouver Island (where collector cars can be driven year-round), Philip now writes exclusively for the Internet, specialising in automotive history.

Hey Phil,
I’ve been enjoying your automotive blog for some time now….it’s excellent for us car guys (and girls).
With the holidays soon approaching, I’m writing to ask if you see any way for my automotive gift company to get involved with your blog.
Our site is listed below if you care to check us out. Our core business is selling to national catalog companies but we do a strong web business during the 4th quarter each year.
Appreciate your opinion and I would welcome hearing from you as you find time.
Warren
Thanks. I've already featured one of your products and will do more in future.

Hi Phil. Nice and clean blog.
I couldn't find an email address so I hope I'm not being annoying by posting this as a comment, but I thought that you and your readers might be interested: Media Connection just published the 2007 issue of World of Cars, and have decided to release the 2006 issue as a free pdf download.
I think they're limiting the time the download is available, although they obviously have no control over how the file spreads. (It's up on torrent sites, for example)
World of Cars is the worlds largest printed car directory with some 1500 makes and 8500 models in it's latest issue (with many kit-car & "classic" producers). It's been published in Poland since 1991, and this years' is the second English edition of the catalogue.
Catalogue homepage: http://www.theworldofcars.com"
rel="nofollow">http://www.theworldofcars.com
(the pdf download is under "Happy hours! Free pdf")
Cheers : Mateusz Pozar : www.monocultured.com
(Disclaimer: My father is the editor of the catalogue, and has asked me to help getting the word out)
-- Thanks. Happy to include this comment. I'll check out the catalogue.
