Restoration
by Philip Powell on November 13, 2006
Ever wonder how those magnificent classic sports cars get to look and run so perfectly? It's often due to the efforts of specialist shops like GPS Classic, based in Soragna, Italy. GPS was created in 2003 by Tommaso Gelmini, a former sponsorship manager with Ferrari and associate of ex-F1 driver Andrea De Adamich. More than a basic restoration center, it overhauls engines, gearboxes, differentials, clutches, braking and suspension systems; prepares cars for competition; has a special section devoted to manufacturing spare parts. GPS Classic provides garaging services that also include technical assistance for classic and historic cars during vintage races and rallies. Not only will the company look after the car, it can take care of everything from entry forms to transportation, flights, hotels, and rental cars. Aside from all that, GPS is a nice place to visit; Soragna's an area of great cultural interest. You can contact GPS Classics through its website.
