At Last, a Vintage Photo Site That Invites You to Share Your Pre-70s Memories

If you enjoy looking at historical photos you have to love V like Vintage. It advertises itself as an "interactive photo community and search engine for historical photos taken before 1970" but it's really much more than that. The collection of vintage auto photos, for example (mostly from amateur contributors) is a wonderful way to look back in history and if by chance you were there, to revive lost memories. Who wouldn't be charmed by the photo above, which appears to be a British Singer sports car? V like Vintage invites anyone interested in the past to submit photographic treasures for others to enjoy.

Happily, it's a well-designed site that enables the viewer to wander through time by category or topic. It features everything from beach holidays dating back several decades, to wartime photos, to cars, trains, and airplanes, backed by a map that locates where photos were taken. Got some wonderful old black-and-whites or colour slides that you feel would entertain others? Go ahead, upload them. The focus is on private photographs-precious contemporary documents which were previously only marvelled at by the owners of old family albums and can now be made accessible to a large photo community.
