Concours
by Philip Powell on June 3, 2007

Here's an automobile journalist who admits he'd never attended a concours d'elegance until he went to the two-day Greenwich event this weekend. You'd think it would be something everyone in our business does as part of their job - and love of cars - but on the other hand I have many journalist colleagues who've also neglected the concours scene so perhaps I shouldn't be too critical. The good news is, he was delighted with what he saw, enough to upload a large gallery of photos on Autoblog. Saturday was mostly for American cars and the gallery reflects that selection; presumably he'll upload another batch after the European classics go on show. (Check the lovely Chrysler Airflow in this shot.) Here's a line from our novitiate's article: "From gorgeous Brass Era machinery right up to the latest and greatest from the present day, walking through the concours was like stepping into a time Warp where you popped into a different decade every few hundred feet." Yep, that's what it's like and why I think you will enjoy this Autoblog photo coverage.
