One of my unfulfilled motoring dreams (there are many) is to attend the Le Mans 24 Hours which, along with the Monaco GP and the Indianapolis 500, is one of the world's three greatest races. If I were to attend the 2009 event I'd be sure to take in the Le Mans Legend, which happens a few hours earlier. In fact I might even prefer it to the big one, for the cars are those that raced when I first became aware of the French classic by reading Road and Track magazine. Duncan Wiltshire of Motor Racing Legends says, "it is the exhilarating sight of historic cars in full-on combat, combined with the Le Mans pedigree of the cars taking part, which makes the Le Mans Legend so popular with the 230,000 spectators." In 2009, the Le Mans Legend will welcome cars that raced there between 1949 and 1965.
