With The action already heating up in preparation for Scottsdale auction week, Barrett-Jackson has released a "Sneak Peek" download in the form of a PDF file that reveals a number cars to be sold, along with short descriptions. "Just click here to see it". A car that immediately caught my eye was this rare Ruxton roadster. Did I say "rare?" Well, only one was ever made, so that's about as rare as you can get. Ruxtons were high-quality, front-wheel-drive vehicles that had the misfortune to arrive at the wrong time in history, as the collapse of the stock market and following depression put an end to several luxury car manufacturers. The car on offer is properly described as a 1929 Ruxton Prototype Muller Front-Drive Roadster, designed by Bill Muller as a luxury car for gentlemen who also want to drive fast. The straight-eight Continental produced 100 hp, more with the added supercharger, although the latter has been removed. This is one car I'll be searching out for camera shots (hopefully better than this fuzzy one from the Barrett-Jackson newsletter) so watch for it during our special coverage beginning January 16.
