Auctions

Can you recall what your were doing in 1960, assuming you were even born by then? I certainly can, for among other things I was laughing at cars like this Buick electra. Because ageing has a way of putting things in perspective I don't laugh anymore. I now smile approvingly. Besides, the money these metallic sculptures can attract when preserved or restored is nothing to laugh about, as we shall discover at "RM's Michigan International Spring Classic Car auction". Taking place in Novi, Michigan, April 27-29, it is the Mid-West's largest indoor auction, with over 400 cars from all eras expected to cross the block. An abundance of top quality American classics and muscle cars is being offered, among them this 1960 Buick 225 Electra convertible. Luxuriously equipped, it has a 401 c.i. 325 hp V-8 coupled to a two-speed Dynaflow automatic. It even has a set of famous Buick portholes, though they were no longer round in this rendering. "Cars That Matter" rates a typical example at approximately $49,500.

It won't stay up for auction for too long. I'm sure many rich people would like to see this beauty in their garages.
