Big Healey Makes it Big in Leading Collector Car Magazine
Filed in archive by Philip Powell on March 21, 2007

Every two months I look forward to receiving my copy of "Collectible Automobile", a favorite magazine about American collector cars. With no advertising to interrupt one's reading pleasure, it's a joy to read. I have only two complaints: First, I'd like to see more articles on European and Japanese cars and second, I wish the publishers would see fit to establish a Web site so that everyone could at least get a glimpse of the wonderful content. I suspect the editors are worried that by revealing its contents they'll lose readers and yet nothing could be further from the truth. Potential subscribers will be rushing to sign up once they get a glimpse of Collectible Automobile's well-researched and illustrated articles.
The latest issue (the magazine is published bimonthly) has a cover feature on the 1953-1967 Austin-Healey 100 and 3000. I'm familiar with these desirable sports cars through personal experience. (One of these days I'll tell you what it was like to drive a full-race 100S through the streets of Toronto and how our local hero beat a Hollywood film star in a road racing fiasco where the promoter couldn't come up with the promised cash awards.) The April issue of Collectible Automobile may still be on your newsstand, complete with its in-depth column on model cars. For Big Healey fans it suggests this 1/18 scale model from "AUTOart" models.
