Big on Muscle? Here's Your Auction

Is it my imagination or are there more and more classic car auctions happening every month? I'm getting the impression that auctions have become as much spectator events as places to buy or sell cars, probably because we can see hundreds of fascinating old cars all in one place . Nigel Matthews drew my attention to this event which is described by its presenter Mecum High Performance Auctions as "America's Premier Muscle Car Sale." It may be new to me but in fact 2007 marks the auction's 20th anniversary. No one-day wonder, the Belvidere High Performance Auction starts Wednesday, May 23 and runs through Wednesday May 28, at the Boone
County Fairgrounds in Belvidere, Illinois and promises to have up to 1500 cars on sale. As well, there are automotive memorabilia auctions prior to the daily vehicle auctions. My eye was taken with "Lot # T182," a gleaming silver 1967 Buick GS convertible. Though I'm not wildly enthusiastic about muscle cars as a group this is one I'd proudly show off here in lovely Sidney-by-the-Sea, BC.Permalink: Big on Muscle? Here's Your Auction
