Britney Spears a Classic Porsche

Britney Drives 356A

I won’t pretend to have been a Britney Spears fan. Heck, I wouldn’t recognise the lady if she knocked at my front door, a possibility that seems extremely unlikely. Now, however, Ms. Spears has earned my absolute affection. Britney has purchased a classic sports car that just happens to be one of my all-time favorites, a 1956 Porsche 356A Speedster. Clearly, she has taste in cars. An article in Luxist notes, however, that like most young drivers, Britney can’t negotiate her way through a manual transmission and was forced to take lessons. That’s her instructor in the right seat, praying she doesn’t grind the gears in the $70,000 beauty, which apparently is in prime condition. Will Britney Spears be at Pebble Beach in August, showing her Porsche in the Concours? Now that would be a sight worth seeing.

  • Actually, as someone on another site noted, Britney’s Speedster is actually a replica (note the black wipers and – for purists – the incorrest mirror). Frankly, a replica is bad enough. The thought of a talentless tartlet like her defiling a real Speedster is absolutely revolting. What’s next – Paris Hilton in a D-Type?
