Cars and Coffee on a Saturday Morning. Great Way to Start the Weekend

Life in the Fast Lane

This is something I wish would occur in my town but unless I move to Vegas or Irvine, California, it ain't gonna happen for me. It's called Cars and Coffee (the name's already been trademarked), and the idea is that every Saturday morning from 7:00 am – 10:00 am auto enthusiasts gather at a local coffee house with a very large parking lot. They don't actually do anything except look at each other's cars and talk. About cars, naturally. And, of course, drink coffee. The gathering is very democratic, so whether you drive a classic, sports car, hot rod, plain-Jane sedan or a Bugatti Veyron you're welcome. So's the public. The two locations that I'm aware of, thanks to an item in Autoblog, are in Irvine, California and Las Vegas, Nevada. The Las Vegas meet is at the Sansone Park Place shopping center at 9500 S Eastern Ave (215 and Eastern). For more info on the Irvine gathering go to their Website. Sidney BC, where I live, has more coffee houses per capita than anywhere on earth but none have adequate parking and in a town of just 14,000 souls there aren't enough enthusiasts to make a party.

  • You might want to check out Coffee Cruisin’ every Saturday night at Francelli’s Coffee House at Royal Oak Plaza (only 20km down the highway from Sidney). Mostly 50s & 60s American cars and hot rods and a few British. More info here http://www.francellis.ca/
