Sometimes I look around and ask “where the heck was I?” Certain events in North American culture went right over my head. So I could easily have overlooked the Petersen Museum’s celebration of the enduring connection between rock ‘n roll music and the automobile. My problem, as a jazz enthusiast, is that I’ve always regarded rock guitarists as an inferior breed. But now that the Petersen Museum has made me aware of the connection between rock music and the automobile, I’ve changed my tune. After all, I enjoyed hours of disco dancing to the music those guys created, and after learning about the cars they loved they’ve earned my respect. A fabulous presentation through July 30, 2006.
