Chance Meeting Leads Us to MG Cruise

MG's at Sidney

I wouldn’t have known about the Pacific northwest MG tour except for a chance meeting on Sidney BC’s main street. An Oregonian was parking a rather grotty-looking MGB-GT coupe and I asked him “when does the restoration begin?” Fortunately Chris Root had a good sense of humor. Our lengthy conversation not only exposed me to the history of Chris’ MG and its future (bought as a parts car, refused to quit) but made me aware that if I could drag myself out of bed early on Saturday, I might get some photos, and would also meet the friendliest car enthusiasts on the face of the earth. True enough, and I only wished I could do credit to the setting but this shot of the group, taken as they lined up for the run to Tofino on a cool, cloudy morning, will hopefully suffice.
