Classic Cars Guy Dreams of His Own Business Jet

Okay, so here I am publishing another airplane blog when the subject is classic cars. I could excuse myself on the basis that high-end collectors are sufficiently wealthy to buy their own business jets or at least rent them, which is what Lufthansa Private Jets is promoting with this photo. But c'mon, folks, who among you hasn't said that when you win the lottery you'll buy your own private jet? In my case such dreams are front-and-center, inasmuch as my condo is a mere 1/2 mile from the button of Victoria International's runway 12 , where a number of private jets moor while their owners indulge in Vancouver Island's beauty.
Every Saturday morning I breakfast at the Victoria Flying Club with some old buddies who, like me, migrated from Toronto in search of better weather. Joining us is "Coffee Shop Ralph," an ex-707 pilot whose flying experience makes mine look a gnat
compared with an eagle. Ralph Steenstra's Sidney BC coffee shop is a popular hangout for past and present pilots. Driving to the Victoria Flying Club restaurant I pass the business jet "parking lot" where I often stop to admire the variety of aircraft parked there. And yes, I fantisise, trying to decide which aircraft has the range to get me to the F1 races. Dreams, my friends, are free. Fasten your seatbelts.
