Collecting Automobilia Made Easier With Online Auction

Salt Flats Poster

If you enjoy collecting automobilia, or would even acquire a single piece, here's a wonderful opportunity to obtain a bargain without ever leaving your computer. The l'art et l'automobile online automobilia auction is taking place even as I write, featuring a vast selection of rare and desirable items. Up for bids are books, literature, art, posters, model cars, photographs, metal signs, sculptures, watches… the list goes on and on. It's fun just clicking through the online catalog and I can assure you there are some real temptations to be seen. The example shown here will certainly appeal to anyone who recalls the glory days of record running at Bonneville, for it's the actual 1974 Bonneville Nationals official event poster. The green-tone background features a photo of a salt-flats race car with parachute deployed and timing tower in background. Sized 22" x 14" and in A-1 condition, it garnered a starting bid of $100 against an estimate of $125-175. The auction ends June 14th so if you're interested now's the time to check the catalog and perhaps make a winning bid.

  • Checking out the toys and models section, I found #408 – Bugatti Royale with a bid of $90. Just below #409 is a 1933 Morgan 3-wheeler with a bid of $280. – Go figure.
