Visitors to Britain will now have a glorious opportunity to rent a classic Mustang Fastback from The Open Road, specialists in the renting of vintage British sports cars. Owners Tony and Elaine Merrygold have written to tell me about the 1966 Fastback 2+2 model they recently acquired, the first American car in their fleet of MGs, TRs, Healeys, and jaguars. In blue with a cream interior, it features a 289 V-8 and 3-speed automatic. This low mileage beauty has never seen salt, and a result the Merrygolds will only rent it from April to the end of October. Because the car comes with left-hand-drive, nervous North Americans should feel at ease behind the wheel, but you’ll still be required to drive on the left side of the road, folks. (Look right, look left… ) More info at The Open Road Web site.
