The flathead is an engine configuration that will likely never be manufactured again, for modern technology has left it far behind. Fortunately thousands of vintage and classic car owners are happy to be driving cars driven by flathead engines and more than willing to display them at special gatherings such as the second annual Flathead Reunion. This event, exclusive to Pontiacs, will be held in Zanesville, Ohio, on September 7-9, at the Holiday Inn on Route 40 and Interstate 70. It is sponsored by the Early Times Chapter of the Pontiac-Oakland Club International and is open to all pre-war or post-war sedans or convertibles, restored or unrestored. If you own a flathead Pontiac and would like to attend, e-mail David Luken at dbluken@qconline.com or call 309-523-3870. Photo: www.carsonline.com
