Cruising on This Classic Boat Includes Whisky Appreciation Classes

If you like old cars there's a good chance you also appreciate a fine old Scotch whisky. I certainly do, and that's why my eye was drawn to a blog in "Luxist.com" suggesting a three day cruise to the distilleries of Islay in the beautiful classic boat Islay Ahoy! The cruise is organised by Gordon Wright of "the Whisky School Cruises" and includes "rigorous study of fine whiskies in hard to access sheltered locations and perhaps an opportunity to complete some necessary ground research at Islay's well stocked pubs and bars." Islay is regarded as the world's ultimate whisky mecca; its whiskies, whether smokey or more lightly-peated, are revered worldwide. The first cruise is scheduled for May 26 with others planned for June and August. Itineraries are flexible, 6-day cruises a possibility. The refurbished boat carries 10 passengers in twin or double cabins and the price of £895 per person (approx. $1756 US) includes food and beverages on board. With a good chance of spotting some interesting classic cars while in Scotland this blend of island cruising with single Malt
whisky tastings looks to be a truly unique vacation.Permalink: Cruising on This Classic Boat Includes Whisky Appreciation Classes
