German Cars
by Philip Powell on May 2, 2007

Here's a site I can hardly wait to play with although it will have to wait until I have enough time. This site allows one to customize a variety of classic German cars, including the Beetle, the VW Type 3, plus a whole bunch of classic Porsches. According to
Autoblog (via BusSelecta.com via PistonHeads), "You can customize a wide range of features, including the wheels and tires, suspension height; change the color, add decals and accessories." I did, in an earlier life, own a stock VW Beetle, a VW Beetle modified for racing, a Porsche 356 that I raced stock, and a BMW 2002. In every instance, being a would-be designer, I'd have liked to modify my car's appearance along with its performance. Autoblog complains that the printout is only on paper but that's okay, I'd be happy to play in the world of fantasy. Wouldn't you?
