Enjoy a Free Day in a Triumph TR4A

How could you not fall in love with this beauty? I did, at first glance. But then I've always had a soft spot for Triumph
TR4's and TR6's, still under-rated by MG and Healey enthusiasts and still affordable in the North American market. Our feature car comes from The Open Road, one of Britain's leading renters of classic sports cars, and with a little luck you could get an extra day in their TR4A free. 2007 marks the company's 10th year in business, hence it has an ongoing contest offering a free day's rental, which I've been pleased to mention each month as a service to our viewers. So what could you do in May? Well, you could drive to Monaco for the Grand Prix, either the F1 race or the historic races the previous weekend. Be nice to Kimi Räikkönen and he may invite you onto his yacht, docked stern-in to the circuit. Kimi found it a convenient place to sit, enjoy a schnappes, and watch the race last year after his McLaren blew its Mercedes engine. The story behind this TR4A, the restoration and upgrades, is best told by The Open Road so click here for more photos and details.
Speaking of contests, I've entered one where the prize is an all-expenses-paid trip for two to London. Naturally I'm convinced I'll be the winner in which case I'll stretch the trip to two weeks and rent a sports car from The Open Road. But what to do about a lack of suitable traveling companions? In the words of a fictional middle-age detective, I'm no longer willing to share a room with another male. As for female companions, those I'd prefer to travel with can run faster than me. Perhaps a TR4A would be an enticement.
