From Russia, Models With Love

Greyhound Scenic Bus

Many classic car enthusiasts have a taste for other forms of old transport, including trains, steamships, wooden boats, aircraft, buses and tramcars because if we enjoy the role the automobile played in transportation, we also appreciate the broader picture. Which leads me to lead you to a site in St. Petersburg, Russia, where a model-maker creates hand-made replicas of earlier transport that you can order online. The variety, including North American and European models, is astounding. My only complaint is that in viewing the site I couldn’t find reference to prices. My About Cars editor Aaron Gold, for whom I write test drive reviews, is a young guy who loves old buses. My BC test drive colleague, Colin Hefferon, also digs old buses and vintage trucks. So there you go… three guys who spend many hours at the wheel of the latest technology also find happiness among vintage vehicles. Check the site for models like this familiar Greyhound Scenicruiser bus and (forgive the cliché) much, much more.
