Meet Lexus, New Champion of Technology
Filed in archive Test Drives by Philip Powell on February 12, 2007

Though I'll admit to preferring old cars, once or twice each month I'm privileged to test drive, photograph and review a new vehicle for About.com. Get to bring it home and keep it for a week or more. And since many of you buy contemporary automobiles, I've decided to alert our Classical Drives viewers to my reviews as they appear. Even (says he, trying not to reveal prejudices) SUVs.
Recently I drove the the Lexus LS460 L with Luxury Package (known as the Technology Package here in Canada). This amazing vehicle is packed with all the technology features you can possibly imagine. I wrote: "Every morning the engineers at Lexus sit in a circle and gaze up at a star. A three-pointed star. It's the Mercedes-Benz star, glimmering somewhere over Stuttgart. Together they Chant
the words of an old pop song: 'Anything you can do I can do better!' " That includes the ability to park itself. I was impressed by all tricks the LS460 L can perform but in the end fell back on the words of another old pop song that went "give me the simple life." Read the review and learn why.
