Perhaps it's a bit unfair to ask viewers to identify a mystery car without providing the answer but I'll be honest, friends. I don't recognise the car myself and the truth won't be officially revealed until the 15th annual Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance, on March 12-14, 2010. Which is not to say that someone in the know won't reveal the car's name and designer on the Web before then. In the meantime you could be first to expose the truth, using the comments box below. What I can tell you though, by way of Old Cars Weekly's newsletter, is that this silver beauty was first constructed in the late 1940's and was designed by a distinguished automotive engineer. Judging by the silhouette the car must be rear-engined, suggesting the possibility of a Ferdinand Porsche creation. Cisitalia immediately comes to mind, although the Porsche Cisitalia was an open-wheeled grand prix racer. This mystery car is being fully restored and will then make its way onto "the field of dreams" at the Amelia Island Concours. Any guesses?

I have seen this image before, and not recently - at least 10-15 years ago and I am almost positive it is Porsche
