New Coupé Announced by Morgan

AeroMax Coupé

Anytime something new comes from Morgan we pay attention, for so much of the small British firm is old. This spectacular AeroMax Coupé was originally a one-off commissioned by Prince Eric I. Sturdza, president of Banque Baring Brothers Suisse, who liked the Aero 8 convertible but wanted something more practical. Now Morgan is putting it into production. The AeroMax Coupé features an aluminum composite chassis with a BMW V-8 providing the power. Two gullwing-style opening split rear windows access a large, flat cargo area, making the car suitable for long-distance touring. Schedoni of Italy have designed specially-fitted luggage for the journey. The prototype featured a pleated leather interior with hardwood trim; the production car will no doubt be similar. As always with Morgan, availability will mean lengthy waits but if you’ve got the money to buy one – a little over $100,000 – well, you can probably afford to be patient.
