Imagine, if you will, the sight of 1600 classic cars arriving from three countries and converging in one place, an internationally famous race circuit. That's what you would have witnessed had you been at the 1996 Norwich Union run in England, then known as the Norwich Union RAC Classic. The run was held from 1986 to 2000, welcoming over 1000 cars annually with various starting points around the UK, ending at Silverstone, home of the British Grand Prix. And then it was cancelled. Why, I don't know, but I do know that the run, now called the Norwich Union MSA Classic 2007, is back. The revived event will take place on Sunday, the 14th of October. Once again, start points will be located across the country and routes, utilising simple roadbook-style navigation, will incorporate some of the best driving roads in Britain, wandering through beautiful countryside. The payoff for participants is a parade lap around the circuit. No, not at the lap speeds of McLaren-Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton (Britain's hot new hope) but at least everyone will see the track as he sees it, albeit in slow motion. If you're one of those lucky Brits, all you need is a car at least 20 years old and an entry fee of just £100. Go for it!
