Old Cars and the Orient
Filed in archive Japanese Oldies by Philip Powell on July 18, 2007

It's about time the collector car community began to recognise historic Japanese cars, tossing aside its snobbish attitude that only American and European marques can be designated as classics. Good news, then, that Motoring J Style arrives as the first event of its kind in the U.S: a comprehensive American show featuring Japanese cars exclusively. It all happens at the Solano Co. Fairgrounds in Vallejo
, California, July 28, 2007. Events include a drift competition, rallycross action, and a judged car show for significant Japanese cars. The show is open to 1958-2007 models, with an emphasis on the Japanese old-school; historians should note that Japan was building cars long before the first Toyotas and Hondas arrived on these shores.
