Making an auto museum pay for itself isn't easy when expenses include restoration, maintenance, and the purchase of rare vehicles. The Astor Classics Event Museum has found a solution by renting its banquet/exhibit hall to clubs and corporations for special functions. Just imagine how a quiet dinner or boring corporate meeting could be livened up when surrounded by the great cars of yesterday! The Astor Classics Collection in Anaheim, CA, was created by Art Astor, a veteran of over 50 years in Southern California broadcasting and President and CEO of two major radio stations. With such a background the Museum obviously serves a dual purpose, displaying a vast selection of classic cars along with historic radios and broadcast equipment. Having been an announcer during an earlier career attempt I can certainly relate to those vintage microphones through which, as a young man, I might have delivered the news, sports, stock market updates, music intros and... new car test drives, quite possibly the first by radio in North America.
