If you're the happy owner of a vintage Ferrari you'll be even happier to learn that the company has begun a program called Ferrari Classiche, to verify the originality of its older products. To achieve certification the cars will undergo a very careful inspection either at the Ferrari Classiche division in Maranello or at specially authorised centres throughout the world. A thorough mechanical inspection is included and examination of the chassis, engine, gearbox and other 'numbered' components will prove the originality of the owner's car. Changes made in period, possibly for racing, may be acceptable. The concept is to eliminate fakes, as Ferrari takes the authenticity of its older products very seriously. All certified cars become eligible for official Ferrari events. Classic Driver Magazine has more details. (Official Ferrari photo)
