If I haven't made you aware of this site before, then I'm remiss and will make up for it now. IMCDB stands for Internet Movie Car Database, a summary of movies and TV shows in which cars, bikes, trucks and other vehicles starred or at least made an appearance. Did I say "summary?" This remarkable site lists almost 1500 films by vehicle make! The home page shows 152 of the most prominent but beyond that you can browse to your heart's content. Okay, it's one of those sites you're not likely to go back to often, but who among us doesn't have a film scene we can recall but can't quite place? Or quote when we get into a discussion about cars and films.
Along with images from the film or TV show, IMCDB offers brief background on each vehicle, for example: "Minor action vehicle or used in only a short scene." Forums exist where car buffs and movie fans offer comments or facts of interest. Click on the film title and you'll get a gallery of scenes where the car is featured. Exploring this amazing selection, I clicked on Lincoln, figuring they'd been in movies since before I was born. All the way back to silent films in 1928, as it happened, and continuing through to 2007. The car from the clip shown here is a 1934 Lincoln 5-passenger sedan in 1937's Another Thin Man. You say you don't remember the Thin Man series? Ask your grandfather.
