If you're weary of those endless auction reruns on Speed Channel, you'll be delighted to learn that on October 1st ESPN Classic will air a 6-hour marathon of RM Classic Auctions at August's Monterey and Pebble Beach events. RM is a Canadian company known for its stylish presentations and for the extraordinary prices it obtains for rare vintage automobiles. (The legendary 1958 Ferrari 412 S race car that sold for $5.6 million in Monterey is an example.) RM is also widely admired for the quality of its restorations, culminating in the final "triple crown" win for RM's restoration division at Pebble Beach with the Best of Show-winning 1931 Daimler Double-Six Coupe. The winning car is shown here being showered with confetti as the victory was announced. The six-part TV special is hosted by racer and commentator Alain de Cadenet, automotive expert and longtime enthusiast Ken Gross, and former NFL pro Ryan Stewart. Air time is 2PM Sunday.
