Can it be? Yes, Christmas is less than six weeks away and any moment now we'll be bombarded by ads from retailers anxious to make those sales so crucial to annual revenues. Still, time does fly fast (too fast when one gets older!) so no harm in making gift suggestions for folks on your list who happen to like old automobiles. Among the most affordable, yet no less appealing, is a catalog from years past. They're fun to read and they're "keepers," never to be outdated. Send one to somebody who hasn't possessed an old car catalog and you may start them on a lifelong collector hobby. Personally I'd love to receive this Austin Atlantic Convertible brochure even though it's just a 2-page sheet and not printed in color. That's because I recall once seeing an Atlantic at a Toronto dealer's and being young and easily swayed by those swooping lines, drawn from the streamlined era, I was most impressed. As a car it was not known for performance although three 2.6 liter coupes did break an endurance record on the Indianapolis track. The Austin Atlantic was nevertheless something special and wouldn't this (listed for just $25.00) look nice hanging on someone's wall? McLellan's has it and many others to choose from.
