Spotted: A Most Unusual Sculpture

Spotted: A Most Unusual Sculpture

You never know what you’ll see when you’re traveling. Last week I took a 4-day journey with a friend to British Columbia’s beautiful Okanagan Valley, along the way visiting a few of the 110 wineries in the area. Stopping for lunch at a particularly attractive vineyard called The Red Rooster we spotted this clever and amusing sculpture, which combined a rusty old pickup and several well-used barrels from the winery’s cellars. Though the nameplate was missing, a close look through the protective fence suggested the truck may have been a fargo, circa 1940′s. Fortunately I could squeeze the camera through the fence to get this photo. If you’re in the area, you’ll find The Red Rooster on the east side of Okanagan Lake near the town of Naramata.
