Spotted in Sidney: 1941 Chrysler Convertible
Filed in archive Chrysler by Philip Powell on August 15, 2007

I've often taken the opportunity in this site to promote my seaside home of Sidney, BC. Please understand that I come from a lifetime in the heart of big cities like Toronto, New York, London, Montreal, and Vancouver, and that it took a few years before I was willing to admit that I'm no longer part of the action, merely an observor. With a little guidance from Toronto friends who moved here from posts in Hong Kong and Manila I ended up in this charming island town. Among its many assets, Sidney is a stopover for classic car club
tours originating in BC and nearby Washington state.I was aware, too late, that a Chrysler club was descending on Sidney in the very weekend that buddy Ralph Steenstra and I were off to the Abbottsford, BC air show on the mainland, one of the biggest and best in North America. I'd love to include photos but, hey, this is a classic cars site! As Ralph and I drove through town en-route to our ferry reservation we noticed one after another of old Chryslers, Dodges, Plymouths (remember them?) and DeSotos. No time for photos or we'd miss our reservation slot. However one or two stayed over, including the owner of a 1941 Chrysler convertible coupe. If I'd had a chance to chat with him I could add more details but the best I can offer is this photo. He was probably enjoying a dinner at Fish on 5th where they serve yam-fries. Yummy!
