I’m composing this on Monday, October 09, which in Canada is Thanksgiving Day. As a Canadian I’m supposed to be celebrating although, to be embarrassingly honest, I’ve no idea exactly what we’re celebrating since Canada had no immigrant groups as historically noteworthy as the Pilgrims. Our history is mostly composed of struggles between the English and the French. We anglophones won the battle but the francophones refuse to give up their language rights, which can lead to some confusing road signs in Quebec. On the other hand, the francophone culture (wine, women, food) is more interesting than ours. Seeking something special to be thankful for today (aside from ongoing good health) I’d like to thank the many visitors to the Classical Drive site, especially those who go to the trouble of adding comments, and including long-time correspondents from my About Cars years. My gift to you, friends, is this photo of a 1957 Ferrari Superfast, which I took at the 2006 Pebble Beach Concours.
