The Cars We Drove… in Pictures and Music

The Cars We Drove

My long-time friend Leonard Vis sent me a link that he thought I would enjoy, inasmuch as he and I are of a certain age. Meaning, we could look back with fondness and nostalgia on a period when, as has often been written, America was full of optimism, cars were about having a good time, and popular music reflected our car-based lifestyles. Hindsight being the great healer we tend to forget the less appealing aspects of those years but why not? Leave tragedies to the historians. By the way, Len and I met in the ad agency business when he was a suit and I was a creative. Suits and creatives don't often get along but we hit it off. I mention this because our job, in essence, was to promote the good life through the sale of goods and services. Anyway, I clicked on Leonard Vis' recommended link called "Cars We Drove in the Fifties and Sixties" and found it quite delightful. It's a video combining still shots and period music in a review of the cars we (no, make that… you) drove. Mostly rods and customs in this case, but it does acknowledge a couple of classy European sports cars. Take a look… and look back with a smile on your face!
