The Evolution of Ford Logos

Ford Logos

You drive a Ford. Congratulations. Which of the above logos adorns the hood? In my case it's the most recent example as I've just purchased a 2003 Ford Focus ZX5 from a friend, with a mere 58,000 km (less than 36,000 miles) on the Odometer. As Ford was always a family-dominated affair we shouldn't be surprised that the logo has infrequently been updated… it has, however, been redesigned just enough to remain contemporary. Automobile logos have a fascinating history and many are works of art. Many a Jaguar owner, including me a few years ago, awoke to find hood ornaments gone, badges ripped off. If I had my way the thieves would be placed in public stockades where we could toss rotten fruit at their faces.

  • The script doesn’t seem to have changed since 1912. Does anybody know who actually wrote FORD. Was it Henry I?
I wrote a term paper on Henry Ford once, but it has been many, many years and I don’t remember much.
