Vermont Was Perfect Venue for Hemmings Concours
Filed in archive Concours by Philip Powell on July 31, 2007

As does everyone who visits the state, I have fond memories of Vermont. I've driven its winding mountain roads in summer during a Porsche media event, ski-bobbed down Jay Peak when living in Montreal, gone swimming in its largest lake. So I wasn't surprised to learn that Hemmings would hold its first concours d'elegance in Stratton Mountain, Vermont, not far from its Bennington
headquarters. Happily it turned out to be a successful affair, even better-attended than the organisers expected. The event started with a mini-show and tour from the Hemmings parking lot Friday afternoon with about 25 cars expected, but closer to 75 showed up. Autoblog has a gallery of concours photos, and Hemmings blog site offers several from the parade. I chose the above because it is typically New England and because the sedan delivery driving out of the covered bridge is (I think) Hemmings own. This event has a great future; in fact I predict that it will become one of North America's best in future years.[photo: Hemmings]
