The MGA is a relatively simple car, but like any classic it needs TLC, so if I could find an excuse to chat with the beautiful young woman who parked a perfectly restored MGA parked outside the front door of my building last summer, I might suggest she purchase Mike Ash's 400-page book in which he explains the right way to do a complete tuneup, the care and feeding of SU carburetors, rebuilding gearboxes, installing oil filter adapters and a wide range of other topics. The book is actually a collection of 16 years of columns by Mike Ash, technical editor for the North American MGA Register club magazine. Tech Sessions by MGA! contains more than 1,000 drawings, charts, diagrams, and photos, sells for $45, and can be found at the the club's Web site. "Uh, excuse me, ma'am, could I interest you in... "
