The MGA is a relatively simple car, but like any classic it needs TLC, so if I could find an excuse to chat with the beautiful young woman who parked a perfectly restored MGA parked outside the front door of my building last summer, I might suggest she purchase Mike Ash’s 400-page book in which he explains the right way to do a complete tuneup, the care and feeding of SU carburetors, rebuilding gearboxes, installing oil filter adapters and a wide range of other topics. The book is actually a collection of 16 years of columns by Mike Ash, technical editor for the North American MGA Register club magazine.
