Oddball Autos

The boys at the Bruce Weiner Microcar Museum either have a surplus of BMW Isettas or they have too much time on their hands. They've built what has to be the oddest drag racer ever to hit the track (if it actually does hit the track). Starting with a tiny Isetta from the 50's, which would normally have a 600 c.c engine, they clobbered together this monster, based on a hot wheels toy. But it ain't no toy, fella, not when there's a supercharged 730 hp Chevy 502 V-8 ready to rumble. The tires in front are BF-Goodrich G-Force P215/60R14's, the tire in back is a Sumitoma HTRZ II 285/35ZR18. That's right... the tire, for this menacing microcar is a three-wheeler! (Isettas normally had two small driving wheels in the rear.) There's a switch to make it throw flames up to 4 feet on each side, obviously to frighten off other microcar drivers who might fancy having a go. They say it is very, very fast and very, very loud. Nigel spotted this one.
