Win a Day in an MGB GT

MGB GT

This absolutely gorgeous MGB GT can be yours for a day, free, simply by entering a contest offered by The Open Road, an English classic car rental company. This is the Open Road's 10th year in business and to celebrate, owners Tony and Elaine Merrygold are planning a new contest each month, with different prizes for the lucky winners. The MGB seen here has had a number of upgrades to make it utterly reliable, more comfortable, and even more fun to drive. It's a Mk II model, which features synchro on all gears and overdrive on third and fourth. An alternator replaced the generator in the MK II and radial plies were made standard. Power brakes were added. The rental car comes with a full-length Webasto folding sunroof that almost turns the car into a convertible, making it ideal for the sometimes iffy English weather. North Americans may be reluctant to fly to Britain for a day in an MG but add a week's rental and it certainly makes the trip worthwhile. Lucky Brits can take a day off work and dash over hill and dale at no charge. Details on the competition will appear on the Open Road's Web site from February 1st.
