My first view of Hershey, PA, was from the air. I was flying a Cessna C-172 from Toronto Island Airport along with three other pilots, all but one newly licensed. Our lone female pilot had flown the plane from Toronto to Buffalo, where we were required to check in with customs before continuing. My turn came next; an amateur nervously negotiating the multiple taxiways of a busy international airport he'd never seen before. The Hershey leg was pleasant enough but I was relying on an experienced pilot in the right seat who was handling the navigation chores. He forgot to explain that there were two airports in Hershey, close together. Suddenly he yelled "no... not that one, this one!" I immediately put the Cessna into a tight J-turn, hardly the accepted way to enter a circuit, but all went well and when we touched down smoothly our little crew gave me a round of applause. Or maybe it was a sigh of relief.

Were we to make the same flight on October 13, 2007, we might see something like the above, a huge field full of collector cars in the nation's largest show, swap meet, and flea market, presented by the Hershey Region of the AACA.
